On Thursday a wonderful thing happened. At approximately 7:30 pm I learned that Iron Man came out that night at midnight. I also learned that a bunch of my friends were going to see it. I quickly weighed my options. I
should be saving my money. And I had a 9:50 on Friday. But hey, it
wasn't an 8:30. And Friday was payday. So I ended up going.
ANDHOLYCRAPITWASAMAZING. I should say right now I am not a fan of Iron Man. I knew almost nothing about it before seeing the movie. But I loved it. Mostly I was fangirling the suit the entire night.

The only word is...slick! And I realized: I wanna
design stuff like that! And it hit me that though I've only very recently discovered stylized things like TF:Animated and LoSH, I love them. I love clean lines and intricate detailing, but also very simple things. I may have just found the inspiration for the rest of my life...
But seriously, they put
so much detail into that suit. Sometimes to the detriment of some of the other CG scenes, but I'm just the kind of person who can't help picking those things out. And Stark learning to fly was hilarious. I love that the really fabulous pose he adopts is completely necessary to the whole process. XD
This whole week has worn me out something awful. There's been my normal homework load, a lot of work with the tech crew, and in between the sudden high of Iron Man. Going between extremes that quickly wasn't good for me, I think. I actually had to bow out of work last night because I was tired enough to feel dizzy. But at least I got to go out for sushi and cake with my friends on the Ave. And the hilarious thing was, I laid down last night (after feeling dizzy) just to rest and not let my brain do anything. But eventually it got on the subject of velociraptor anatomy, which I have been failing at for several months. So I hopped on the computer and began looking up pictures everywhere I could. I even went back to the character models from Beast Wars for reference. And I ended up staying up until 1am sketching skeletons and various poses.

When I finally did get to bed I realized I didn't feel so bad anymore. And my first thought was: "Of course, because I was researching. Figuring out how stuff works."
Which is the whole reason I got into
science in the first place. And it hit me that I don't need to give that up anymore.
YES!
P.S. Parker House and Theory is an amazing band. All the members are multi-talented. I worked a concert of theirs Friday, and got them all to sign a CD. This now makes 3 bands that I have met and gotten to sign things while at college.
